The House of Habib and Institution of Engineers, Pakistan proudly announce the Ali Suleman Habib Engineering Excellence Awards to recognize those that have excelled in the field of engineering and resultantly made outstanding contributions to society and the nation at large.
The awards honor the memory of Mr. Ali Suleman Habib whose passion for engineering created avenues for national opportunity and growth in the field. His legacy inspires Pakistani Engineers to dedicate themselves to work hard and excel in all areas of their lives for national prosperity
This year, the very first Ali Suleman Habib Engineering Excellence Award recipient is Dr. Riaz Ahmad Mufti, whose dynamic body of work titled “Design and Development of Test Rigs and Inspection Machines for Automotive industry” secured him this place and a generous prize of PKR 1 million. Dr. Riaz Uddin for his project “NED Ventilator was awarded the runners up & a cash award of 500 thousand & Mr. Abdullah Ahmed’s project “Cricflex” earned him an honorable mention with a cash prize of PKR 500 thousand as well.
Chairman House of Habib, Mr. Mohamedali R. Habib shared his views “The platform is the nation’s commitment to creating opportunities and sustained development of the engineering sector of Pakistan and its dedicated professionals for the prosperity of our nation”.
Mr. Razzak Dawood, founder, and chairman BARD Foundation, graciously spoke at the event ceremony “The Ali Suleman Habib Engineering Excellence Awards aim to foster innovation and develop fruitful competition amongst Pakistani Engineers.”
The eminent Jury members noted that “Pakistan’s engineers were the very driving force of Pakistan’s industry, at the heart of our success.”
The Institution of Engineers, Pakistan (IEP) is the largest body of professional Engineers in Pakistan and provides a forum for the professional development of Engineers through a wide range of activities and programs. The Institution plays an important role for the dissemination of knowledge amongst the fellow Engineers and in the development of Engineering and Science in the Country.
