Each year, the UN highlights a theme and asks humanitarians around the world to come together to raise awareness and support for those affected by crises and for the safety of those who selflessly risk their lives to provide aid to them.
To celebrate in these efforts, from Friday-to-Sunday; August 19-to-21, 2022; 12:00 noon – 5:00pm; all HHRD regional offices nationwide including Houston, Texas is organized a Day of Service opportunity for volunteers to sort and pack essentials to send to distressed populations and countries around the world.
In Houston, HHRD is thanking much for the partnership of several community organizations in joining these efforts (mentioned below ); especially the coordination done by Mr. Muhammad Saeed Sheikh of the Alliance For Disaster Relief and the Houston Karachi Sister City Association.
Clothing, shoes, blankets, and toys are just some of the items that are being prepared for shipping to humanity overseas in dire needs during these days.
