Karachi: The operating room established by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) at the National Child Health Institute, Pakistan’s largest and the only children’s hospital in the Sindh Province and equipped with modern equipment was opened with the participation of the Sindh Government Minister of Health Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz and Turkish Republic Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Mehmet Paçac?.
Speaking at the opening program, Minister of Health Dr. Niaz said Türkiye is the first country to help and support Pakistan in time of need. He thanked the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency-T?KAstate-of-the-arte art OT for the children of Pakistan.
In his speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Pakistan, Dr. Mehmet Paçaci said the relationship between Türkiye and Pakistan is like con, Crete, and with Turkish institutes like T?KA, Yunus Emreothersother, this relation strengthened.
Stating that they have carried out more than 80 health projects throughout Pakistan, T?KA Karachi Program Coordinator Halil Ibrahim Ba?aran stated that they continue to contribute to the development of Pakistan, a friendly and brotherly country, in the field of health with 7 important projects they have carried out in different health fields between 2019 and 2023 in Sindh province. After the speeches, Minister of Health Niaz and Ambassador Paçac? cut the r, ribbon, and the operating room established by TIKA was presented to the service of Pakistani children. After the opening, Dr. Niaz and Dr. Paçac? visited the intensive care unit and delighted the children with gifts prepared by T?KA.
T?KA’s Health Projects in Sindh Province
The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency has carried out more than 80 health projects throughout Pakistan since 2010 with its offices located in Islamabad and Karachi. In Sindh Province, it has implemented 7 important health projects, including health projects for the treatment of diseases sucthalassemiasemia, cataracts, cleft,t lip, and palate. Lastly, this year, in cooperation with Koohi Goth Women’s Hospital, TIKA provided training to 100 healthcare professionals in the field of newborn hearing screening and donated newborn hearing screening devices to 5 hospitals in Karachi and Hyderabad.
