Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari has given a ruling in which all the votes cast by the Muslim League members have been rejected.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s candidate Pervez Elahi got 186 votes while PML-N’s Hamza Shehbaz got 179 votes.

However, after the voting process was completed, Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari read out the letter of Q-League chief Chaudhary Shujaat in which he instructed the Q-League members not to vote.

The Deputy Speaker said that according to the decision of the Supreme Court, all the votes cast by the Q-League are rejected and I announce that Hamza Shehbaz has been elected as the Chief Minister of Punjab after 10 votes.
