Gwadar is the economic lifeblood of Pakistan but it is unfortunate that despite the promise, the government did not come up with any new plan for the development of Gwadar in the budget of the new financial year and the budget was not allocated as per its requirement. About 75 investors are worried because their investment of billions of rupees is in jeopardy. It is reported that the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) has also given budget proposals to the Federal Government for the development of Gwadar but He did not take it seriously. The promises made by the Government regarding Gwadar have not been fulfilled yet. Now the situation is that the builders who have been working in Gwadar for 15 years are worried and are facing difficulties. It is said that the Federal Government I promised one window operation for the convenience of builders but did not fulfill it, no steps have been taken for the security of builders and staff so far due to which the situation today is that builders cannot go to Gwadar, billions of rupees invested in Gwadar. The work has been done by the builders who are now in danger and the buyers from abroad have gone to Gwadar and they are also repeatedly demanding from the leaders to give them the ownership rights of the plot.
Recognition of Pakistan’s economic growth Gwadar infrastructure is also in ruins Water, Electricity and Gas facilities have not been provided yet, 15 years have passed for permission to builders but the question here is what has the Government done for builders till date? Builders say that they want to develop Gwadar but the attitude of the Government is telling something else. The Government has made Gwadar port a Tax Free Economic Zone but has not given anything to the industries of Gwadar. There are about 75 builders working in Gwadar who have worked there. Billions of rupees have been invested but the situation is showing that now their investment is also in jeopardy. Plot buyers today are demanding from builders to give ownership rights to plots. Chief Minister of Balochistan, Jam Mir Kamal Khan Alyani promised builders that Karachi Will build rest houses and hotels from Gwadar to make it easier for investors but this has not happened. Security issues in Gwadar are also chaotic. The government is only spending verbal deposits and is not ready to take real steps surprisingly; the Deputy Commissioner Gwadar has recently written a letter that every person entering Gwadar will first get his corona test which will not be tested then he cannot enter Gwadar. Mr. Mohsin Shekhani, Chairman of ABAD raised her voice but instead of resolving the issue, the matter was put on hold. In the budget for the new financial year, the Government has kept the funds for the development of Gwadar at bay, which makes it easy to estimate that not interested in Gwadar.
Recently, ABAD Gwadar Chapter held an important and extraordinary meeting on the issues of builders working in COVID 19 and CPEC Gwadar under the Chairmanship of Mahmood Ahmad Khan. The meeting was hosted by Faisal Ahsan and Fahad Ehsan while Syed Ali Hussain Naqvi, Mansoor Hoth, Mohammad Naeem Khan, Sher Bahadur Khattak, Fasihuddin Qureshi, Irshad Ali Shah, Affan Qureshi, Shabir Baloch, Asif Gula, Zeeshan Advani and Sheikh Afzal participated while Shabir Asghar from other cities of the country through video link. , Mushtaq Khokar, Hussain Bohri, Humayun Qadir and Shamaz Usman also attended the meeting. Apart from Gwadar and CPEC, the overall economic situation of the country was also discussed.
It was said in the meeting that Coronavirus has severely damaged the economy of the whole world; especially the economic condition of Pakistan has deteriorated. Recently, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan announced a special package to support the country’s construction industry, but did not specify the features of the project, which has caused unrest among people and builders in the construction industry. The Government of Balochistan had also promised facilities and incentives for the development of Gwadar which have not been fulfilled yet. The meeting jointly urged the Federal Government to review the development budget of Gwadar in the current budget session and to increase its grant to complete the development works of Gwadar as soon as possible. The meeting also demanded from the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chairman Senate, Chairman CPEC and other officials that the entire district of Gwadar be declared a Tax free Economic Zone. The meeting also demanded from the Federal and Provincial Governments to provide transport facilities (lay bay areas and other facilities) on Gwadar Coastal Highway. The members of the meeting reminded the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Jam Mir Kamal Khan Alyani that while announcing the Gwadar Master Plan, we had promised all the builders that Gwadar would be declared a Tax Free Economic Zone, there would be one window operation and a committee would be formed with the builders. Will go but so far no practical progress has been made on these promises. It was said in the meeting that addressing the Chief Minister of Balochistan, it was said that billions of dollars have been invested in Gwadar from inside and outside the country, so immediately fulfill their promises so that Gwadar can move forward.
