Karachi: A delegation from Green Karachi’s Committee Green East, led by Convener Syeda Raafia Hasan, visited Metropolitan University Karachi to discuss the upcoming plantation drive with the university’s administration.
The delegation, which included Deputy Convener Amana Shariq and Adviser Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmed Ali Dhakan, met with the Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahida Sajjad, to explore ways to collaborate on the plantation drive, which is being organized by the PTC as part of the Green Karachi initiative.
The meeting focused on the importance of promoting environmental sustainability and the role that educational institutions can play in supporting this cause. The delegation and the university administration discussed potential areas of collaboration, including student participation, faculty involvement, and resource sharing.
Syeda Raafia Hasan, Convener of Committee Green East, emphasized the need for collective action to address environmental challenges and praised Metropolitan University Karachi for its commitment to sustainability.
Prof. Dr. Shahida Sajjad, Pro-Chancellor of Metropolitan University Karachi, expressed her support for the Green Karachi initiative and agreed to collaborate with the committee to make the plantation drive a success.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to work together to promote environmental sustainability and make Karachi a greener and more livable city.
