Islamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has said that the government is taking steps to provide maximum relief to the common man, considering the plight of the people and giving subsidies on essential commodities.
A meeting of the Ehsaas Ration Program was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister in which it was said in the briefing given to Imran Khan that under Ehsaas Ration Program a monthly subsidy of Rs. 20 million households will be given a discount of Rs. 1000/- on flour, ghee, and lentils.
During the briefing, it was also stated that registration of grocery stores is underway under the program and so far more than 15,000 grocery stores have been registered.
Prime Minister Imran Khan directed that registration should be expedited to benefit as many poor families as possible.
It may be recalled that Senator Sania Nishtar Special Assistant of the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Poverty Alleviation & Social Protection, Shaukat Tarin Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance & Revenue, and Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid also attended the meeting.
