Karachi: The Government of Sindh has approved an important public-private partnership project to establish an electric vehicle (EV) charging network across the province, aimed at promoting green energy and sustainable transport. The project has been developed in collaboration with China’s ADM Group and Malik Group of Companies, with the goal of introducing advanced fast-charging infrastructure to support Pakistan’s rapidly growing electric mobility ecosystem.

Under the approved project, the Government of Sindh will provide funding of PKR 750 million for the establishment of 300 charging stations in the first phase. Additionally, ADM Group is investing USD 90 million to develop 3,000 EV charging stations across Pakistan, further strengthening the country’s electric mobility infrastructure.

According to Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, this project will serve as a key milestone in reducing carbon emissions, promoting environmentally friendly energy solutions, and strengthening the sustainable transport system in Sindh. Policy-level coordination and industrial partnership played a crucial role in the approval process, with continuous efforts and coordination by Malik Khuda Baksh acknowledged as contributing to this progress.

The Government of Sindh states that the project will create new investment opportunities, promote the development of modern infrastructure, and position Sindh as a leading region in Pakistan’s electric vehicle technology sector.

Malik Khuda Baksh, Chairman of Malik Group of Companies, stated that this project is of critical importance for green energy, modern transport, and sustainable infrastructure. The Government of Sindh had announced the installation of over 691 EV charging stations at strategic locations in major cities and along key highways to ensure public convenience and easy access. Establishing 300 charging stations in the first phase is a crucial part of this initiative.

The project will provide employment opportunities for youth, while relevant personnel will receive training and equipment. Malik Khuda Baksh emphasized that the primary objectives of this initiative are not only to promote green technology, reduce carbon emissions, and ensure the growth of electric mobility across the province, but also to support industrial development, energy conservation, and decisive steps toward addressing climate change.
