Government decides to lift ban on mobile phone imports

The federal government has decided to lift the ban on mobile phone imports, the orders of which are expected to be issued this week, sources said. However, the Ministry of Industry and Production, Cabinet Secretariat and Customs had recommended that crores of rupees be collected from the import of mobile phones, sources said. One crore 260,000 mobile phones have been imported.
