LAHORE – Saudi Arabia has officially reopened the issuance of multiple-entry visit visas for Pakistani nationals, with Etimad centers across Pakistan beginning to process applications from June 23.
This decision comes as a major relief for families and individuals who had been awaiting the resumption of the visa for several months. The multiple-entry visa allows holders to enter Saudi Arabia multiple times within a specified validity period — typically one year — with each stay permitted for up to 90 days. These visas are applicable for tourism, business, and family visits.
Earlier in February 2025, the Kingdom had temporarily suspended multiple-entry visas for citizens of 14 countries, including Pakistan, as part of its preparations for Hajj season 2025. Other affected countries included India, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, and several others.
Saudi authorities had explained the suspension was aimed at curbing misuse of visit visas, particularly by those attempting to perform Hajj without proper authorization or overstaying their visit, which in turn created overcrowding and security concerns at religious sites. Additionally, reports of visa holders engaging in unauthorized employment prompted further scrutiny.
Now that the suspension has been lifted, applicants visiting Etimad centers, especially in Lahore, confirmed that their visa requests are being processed. Families welcomed the move, expressing joy at being able to reconnect with their loved ones working or residing in Saudi Arabia.
