SPAIN : Spanish police have arrested a criminal gang that stole chairs set out for customers from restaurants. Spain’s National Police said the department has arrested seven people suspected of stealing more than 1,100 chairs from outdoor seating areas of restaurants and bars in Madrid and another nearby municipality in just two months. A group of six men and one woman worked nights in August and September to steal chairs from 18 different restaurants in Madrid and Talavera de la Reina, a small town in the southwest of the capital. The stolen property is estimated to be worth around 60,000 euros ($69,000), according to police. The suspects, who face theft charges and are part of a criminal organization, sold the chairs not only in Spain but also in Morocco and Romania.
