Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced a tax-free budget for the province, emphasizing that the government is focusing on major public welfare and development initiatives. He stated that, following the directives of the PTI founder, the budget prioritizes projects aimed at benefiting the general public.
Key sectors receiving funding include industry, healthcare, education, tourism, and digital transformation. The budget also allocates resources for significant infrastructure projects, such as the Peshawar to Dera Ismail Khan Motorway and the uplift canals project, which Gandapur described as a game changer that will help irrigate vast areas of previously uncultivated land.
Funds have also been set aside for the construction of both small and large dams, and work is ongoing on a new transmission line that will provide electricity to industrial units at half the current cost. To support self-employment, interest-free loans will be made available to the public. Additionally, the provincial government plans to declare an “education emergency” to improve the quality of education.
In another development, PTI leader Muhammad Asim Khan has been appointed as the Chief Minister’s Special Assistant, raising the total number of special assistants in the KP cabinet to 13. His appointment was formalized with the approval of KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
