Karachi – In a momentous occasion, the foundation stone for St. Rita’s Convent was laid, marking a
historic initiative in the region. The ceremony, graced by esteemed dignitaries including Bishop
Samson Shukardin of Hyderabad, ILF Chairman Nasir Ahmed, and St. Rita Hospital’s in-charge,
Shakila, among others, resonated with the spirit of service and progress.
Bishop Samson Shakar Deen, in his address, emphasized the venerable service record of St. Rita
Hospital, spanning 75 years in dedicated service to people of diverse backgrounds. He underscored
the significance of the foundation as a pivotal step towards continued service and community

Nasir Ahmad, Chairman of the International Lawyers Forum, highlighted the historical legacy of
convents across the subcontinent, citing their role in fostering knowledge and paving the path for
progress. As a token of appreciation, Cecilia James presented a statue of Lady Fatima to Bishop
Samson, while Nasir Ahmed conferred a special shield.
The event also saw contributions from key figures such as Shakila, Sister Nargis Sadiq, President of
