ISLAMABAD – In occupied Kashmir, people staged forceful demonstrations in Srinagar, Islamabad and other areas, today, against attacks on Kashmiri Muslims by Hindu fanatics in Jammu and different Indian states.
According to Kashmir Media Service, people took to the streets in different areas of Srinagar and Islamabad town and held massive demonstrations.
Indian troops and police used brute force and fired teargas shells to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel.
Traders and shopkeepers observed strike in Lal Chowk and adjoining markets in Srinagar to register protest against the victimization of the Kashmiris.
Despite curfew in Jammu city, Hindu arsonists attacked vehicles and residential quarters of the Kashmiris in Janipur colony, today.
The Hindu extremists also attacked and harassed the Kashmiri students studying in Indian states of Haryana and Dehradun.
Hurriyat leaders and organizations including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani and Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir in their statements denounced the attacks on the Kashmiris.
