Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, is a renowned industrialist and Chairman of Baig Group, a multinational conglomerate operating in diversified fields in Pakistan, UAE and Morocco for the last 30 years. He has done his Masters in Marketing and Doctorate in Business Administration from USA.

Dr. Baig is the author of 6 books on economy on the current national & international economic issues and his biography “A Limitless Pakistani”. He regularly write economic columns in the leading newspapers and his expert views are given due importance by the policy maker. Dr. Baig has been awarded “Certificate of Achievement” by the international renowned magazine, “Economist”.

The President of Pakistan has conferred Dr. Baig prestigious Civil Award “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz” in recognition of his contribution to the national economy. Dr. Baig was nominated at National Security Workshop 7 at renowned National Defence University, Islamabad.

Dr. Ikhtiar Baig is the Honorary Consul General of Republic of Yemen in Pakistan and President of Hon. Consular Corps, Sindh Karachi. Dr. Baig is representing Pakistan on the board of Director of World Federation of Consuls Brussels. The President of Yemen has awarded prestigious Civil Award “Order of Merit” to Dr. Baig in recognition of his contribution to enhance bilateral trade and investment between Yemen and Pakistan. Dr. Baig is the former Advisor to the Prime Minister on Textiles and was instrumental for the 1st National Textile Policy. Dr. Baig has invaluable contribution in getting GSP Plus status from EU for Pakistan. He has been nominated on the Prime Minister Business Persons Council (BPC), a think-tank on national economic policies. Dr. Baig is also heading think tank of 21st Century, Business and Economic Club. He has been Chairman Pakistan Textile City and served on the Board of Directors of Pakistan State Oil & Karachi Electric Corporation.

Dr. Baig is the recipient of various awards including of gold medal from the President of Pakistan in recognition of his meritorious services in the field of banking and finance. His company Pak Denim is the recipient of FPCCI Special Export Merit Award from President and Prime Minister of Pakistan for the last 15 consecutive years on export of denim fabric. Dr. Baig has been awarded top 100 successful business entrepreneurs of Pakistan Award by the CEO Club consecutively for the last 3 years. He is the Secretary General of Make-A-Wish Foundation Pakistan, granting wishes of terminally ill children. Dr. Baig is representing Business Community of Pakistan at FPCCI, the apex body of trade & industry of Pakistan & Chairman Standing Committee on Banking, Credit & Finance.

Dr. Baig is the Member Presidential Advisory Council of CEO Club Worldwide, a representative of the CEOs worldwide. Federal Board of Revenue has recently appointed Dr. Baig, Member Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (ADR) for Karachi region to settle the tax disputes of the business community with FBR. He has also been appointed President Sector Skills Council of Textile Industry by National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) for skill development. He is on the Board of Governors of United Medical & Dental College Karachi & Preston University Karachi & also appointed on the Corporate Advisory Council at the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law.
