LAHORE: Pakistan’s first global sports partner (GSP) Chief Minister Punjab Baseball League has started. Under the supervision of Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB), the league was inaugurated by Minister of Education Punjab Rana Sikandar Hayat by pitching the ball at Foreman Christian (FC) College Baseball Ground in a colorful ceremony ,incollaboration with GSP. Before the inauguration, the National Anthem was played and all the teams and officials were introduced to the Chief Guest, Rana Sikandar Hayat.
Earlier on his arrival, PFB Secretary Syed Fakhar Ali Shah along with the organizing committee welcomed him and presented bouquets..On this occasion, he announced the construction of separate baseball grounds for men and women in educational institutions on behalf of the Punjab government. He said that the way Pakistan Federation Baseball is trying for the development of this game is encouraging.
More he said, its impressed to see baseball ground in FC College Lahore, male and female players from all over the country and foreign coaches Mickey Weston, Justin, Brian Fritches, Bowe and Steve Davis, founder of GSP here. On this occasion, he appreciated the steps being taken by Syed Fakhar Ali Shah and GSP for the promotion of baseball.
Rector of FC College Dr.Jonathan Adleton, Executive Director of PFB Muhammad Muazzam Clair, Secretary Women Wing Aisha Irum, Muhammad Anjum Shah, Muhammad Ilyas Qazi, Shehbaz Ahmed, Parvez Ahmed Sheikh, Amjad Rana, Tahir Mehmood and other distinguished guests were present in the ceremony. In the opening women match Faisalabad falcons beat Lahore lions by 5-6 and also in men match Faisalabad falcons beat Lahore lions by 5-6.
