Mr. Khurram Khalil Nanitalwala, renowned Chief Operating Officer (COO) Medicam Group of Companies, arranged a meeting with honorable Industrialists of Korangi Industrial Area at Le Mendoza (Factory) Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi. in this meeting basic issues of Korangi Industrial Area considered and discussed. Mr. Mian Zahid Hussian ,Mr. Pervaiz Haroon Madraswala, Mr. Rashid Maqbool, Mr. Chudhary Niaz Ahmed, Mr. Sheikh Manzar Alam, Mr. Muhammad Umer Sohail, Mr. Huzaifa Ali Asghar, Mr. Rehan Shafi, Mr. Tanveer Uddin, Mr. Adeel Sakaria, Mr. Anees Sakaria, Mr. Abdullah Rasheed, Mr. Humayun Aslam Mirza, Mr Zaheer Allana, Mr. K. M. Prevaiz, Mr. Sohail Aslam, Mr. Mahammad Anees, Mr. Farooq Rehman, Mr Kareem Isphani and Mr. Junaid Rasool Phulpoto attended the meeting.
It is established that Korangi Industrial Area is largest industrial area of Pakistan, it contributes 25% of tax collection in Pakistan. Korangi Industrial Area consist of more than 4000 industrial units, it contains two largest oil refineries and many other larger industrial units but it is always neglected for the provision of basic needs, no one is paying attention towards the betterment of Korangi Industrial Area where as Provincial Government issued 1.25 Billion Rupees to KATI Limited.
Industrialists of Korangi Industrial Area feel the need for establishment of a group Progressive Korangi Industrial Alliance (PKIA)” that can communicate with provincial government and federal government. Mr. Mian Zahid Hussian will be chief coordinator and Mr. Khurram Khalil Nanitalwala will be co-coordinator of Progressive Korangi Industrial Alliance (PKIA). 12-member governing body was formed consisting of Mr. Pervaiz Haroon Madraswala, Mr. Rashid Maqbool, Mr. Chudhary Niaz Ahmed, Mr. Sheikh Manzar Alam and other honorable industrialist.
Progressive Korangi Industrial Alliance (PKIA) will contact with other industrialists and will nominate one coordinator for each sector of Korangi who will play his role for communication of problems of his sector.
They also discussed the worst condition of JAM SIDDIQUE BRIDGE as this bridge is the main link of Korangi industrial area with the port and city it has huge traffic flow. The worst condition of JAM SIDDIQUE BRIDGE may cause an unbearable incident. During rain causeway got stuck due to urban flooding in malir river and in that situation we have only one option of jam saddique bridge. There is need for a bridge on cause way as alternative, where as in 1980 KDA planned a bridge on cause way even the pillars were established and the basic material was provided but due to some allegations, work of bridge stopped and the plan was rolled back. As now a bridge has been made on Malir-1 from singer chorangi to Shah Faisal colony, if another bridge is made on Shaheed e Millat Cause-Way, it will facilitate the industrialists of KIA.
