Karachi: Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig Member National Assembly of Pakistan and central leader of PPP expressed solidarity with Pakistan’s religious minorities to support their rights in the country at a round table meeting to celebrate International Minority Day at Avari Towers Karachi. The round table was attended by Tushna Patel, Aneela IRS Washington DC, Muhammad Kashif Mirza, Albert John and representatives from various minority communities. Dr. Baig referred speech of the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari on Minority Day, to protect the rights and religious freedom of the minorities in Pakistan as per our constitution. Dr. Baig stressed the need to work for interfaith harmony, tolerance and unity to make Pakistan a strong country. The armed forces of Pakistan also acknowledged the valuable contribution of minorities. Dr. Baig also advocated a special quota for minorities in government jobs. The round table was addressed by the various minority leaders and expressed their full confidence in their well-being in the country.
