Karachi : With great admiration and belief in the columns of your newspaper, I seek to bring to
your kind notice that Karachi, a large and a busy city, has many major areas suffering
from the problem of hard water lines, which is a huge discomfort for the residents.
Saline water is a great concern in many neighborhoods like Garden, Saddar, Clifton and
many other areas. It has made lives difficult for the residents of these areas rising
concerns about skin and health issues. I particularly want these issues to be addressed
because I have personally faced skin issues due to this, and have discontonued using
this water, and switching to drinking water has been very unconvenient. Moreover,
people have to pay more to get fresh water separately, which is a huge additional cost
as maintenance costs are also skyrocketing these days.
Karachi being a highly populated city exceeds the limits of supply of water and many
people have to rely on the groundwater that is largely saline, and unsuitable for every
household purpose from washing clothes to utensils etc.
Issues of the citizens regarding their health and skin concerns should be given the right
importance and taken in focus to take the right actions, and I believe brining this
problem into your concern will help my issues reach the relavant authorities.
Sincerely,
