Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dow University of Health Sciences, Professor Nusrat Shah said that we as medical professionals and students stand with the nation in this hard time. People should come and reach out for help from different fields of life.
She expressed these views while speaking as a Chief guest at All Karachi Inter-University Quiz Competition held at Muin Auditorium of Dow Medical College in connection with Pakistan’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Dr. Fawad Sheikh, students, and teachers from all over Karachi were also present on this occasion. Professor Nusrat Shah said, we should give dry food items or water ration blankets etc. but as medical professionals, we should also donate medicine and other health care related items to the flood victims, and all these items will be donated by our medical students.
In her address, She congratulated the students for taking interest in the Diamond Jubilee and showing excellent skills in the competitions and said that the students from all over Karachi had participated in Debate competition first and now the quiz competition in connection with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations hosted by Dow University. Professor Nusrat Shah said that this competition also made it clear that doctors are also working hard in other fields of life. She said that medical professionals should not only talk about medicine and health, but we should also talk about business and other fields.
At the end of the ceremony, the prize-winning students were announced, in which the first prize was given to Ahsan Lodhi and Abu Qahafa, students of Jamia tul Rasheed, and the second prize was given to Zeenat Hadi and Faizan Abid, students of Dow Medical College, while the third prize was awarded to the team of Karachi Medical and Dental College students, Sharjeel Abdul Khaliq and Mohit Al Haq. Professor Nusrat Shah distributed prizes to the contest winners.
