KARACHI : In a decisive move, the Director General of Trade Organization (DGTO) has intervened to rectify the biased and unlawful decision of the Secretary General of FPCCI.

The controversial decision, outlined in letter No 12575 dated 11-12-23, sought to expel 19 legitimate trade bodies, causing significant unrest among the trade community in anticipation of the upcoming FPCCI election.
The Secretary General’s actions, post the issuance of the provisional list, objections, and subsequent challenges to the Election Commission and DGTO, exceeded his role and stirred controversy.
Responding to appeals from concerned trade bodies, the DGTO has stepped in to restore fairness to the FPCCI election process.
The trade bodies have fervently requested the expulsion of the Secretary General from the election proceedings, emphasizing their intention to stage protests if their demands are not met. The DGTO’s intervention marks a crucial step toward upholding transparency and impartiality in the FPCCI elections.
