What will my future in Pakistan be? Nowadays, this question is circulating in every youth’s mind, and for the last few years, a number of negative thoughts have been developing in the hearts of Pakistani youth about their homeland. But why? Is it because of the negativity and propaganda spreading on social media?
We can easily analyze that most YouTubers and influencers are continually making content to encourage youth to leave Pakistan and move to other countries by spreading negativity with the aim of just maximizing views and monetization payments. But we shouldn’t let this negativity shape our views of our country.
Are we following our national responsibility? Most of us ignore traffic rules, use wrong ways as a shortcut to reach home early. As youth, most of us cheat in our academic careers, attend classes just for attendance without focusing on acquiring skills. We litter public places, disregard environmental issues, we often share unverified social media content without any scrutiny, make jokes about serious issues and spend hours by watching reels. Many of us prefer complaining over finding solutions. Yet, we expect to become successful overnight with this attitude which is impossible no matter where you are in the world.
On one hand, we share positive content about the development of Western countries and criticize Pakistan, but on the other hand, we do not do anything to support our homeland. Western countries are developed because their youth serve their nation with integrity and hard work, because they don’t spend all day on social media. Their youth believe in hard work rather than shortcuts. These are the secrets of their success and development.
Always research before believing what you see on social media. Having political interests is the right of the youth, but research is mandatory before believing and spreading any misinformation. You must know the positive and negative aspects of your favorite political party rather than following them blindly. Moreover, the government also needs to improve the education system and ensure that private companies maintain a minimum wage policy and pay accordingly.
As young people, we can start by being more responsible in our daily lives. We can make Pakistan better. Remember, even a small stone can create ripples in a sea. When each of us does our part, we can create positive change.
Pakistan Zindabad, Pakistan Pa’indabad.
