Karachi : A unique girls-only cyclathon was recently held in Karachi with a powerful purpose—to raise funds for the education of girls from underprivileged communities. Organised by the Al Furqan Welfare Organization, the special fundraising event drew enthusiastic participation from nearly 90 women cyclists who pedalled through Phase 8, DHA, with a shared goal of empowering young girls through quality education.
The initiative, titled Cycle for Education ’25, aimed to sponsor the academic journey of 100 deserving girls enrolled in various schools and communities supported by the organisation. Thanks to overwhelming support from donors, participants, and well-wishers, the event successfully met its fundraising target, paving the way for brighter futures for these young learners.
Women cyclists from renowned groups such as Special Olympics Pakistan, Ride Roll and Lead, and Wings on Wheels took part in the ride, lending their strength and solidarity to the cause.
The success of the event was made possible by the generous contributions of key sponsors including Bank AlFalah, Rotary Club of Karachi New Central, and NRQ Dental.
Essential logistical and security support was provided by Sindh Police, the Emergency Squad (Rescue 1122 Sindh), and DHA Security, ensuring a safe and seamless experience for all participants.
The cyclathon not only celebrated the spirit of fitness and female empowerment but also made a meaningful impact by transforming the lives of 100 girls through access to quality education.
