KHAIRPUR – The Sindh Cultural Day was celebrated at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur jointly
organized by the Media Society and Sindh Television Network. In this connection, the Speech
Contest on the theme “Solidarity with the Female Students and to extend their Respect”. Prof.
Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences chaired the event while Mr.
Shoukat Noonari, Bureau Chief Sindh T.V Network, Sukkur and Mr. Khan Muhammad Solangi,
District Reporter, Khairpur were the guests of the honor.
Talking to the participants, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari said gender equity is very
essential to set a balanced society. Men and women have equal status. Women may be
encouraged in economic sphere so they may be given economic empowerment, socially they
may be given the right of education. Female education in the rural and tribal clot may be given.
Opportunities for availing education, rights of vote may be given. It is the need of the time to
adhere the laws which government has promogulated for the protection of women. Dr. Lashari
appreciated the unwavering efforts of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for
the promotion of curricular and co-curricular activities at the campus and also lauded the efforts
of Sindh Television Network for highlighting the social and cultural issues of Sindh.
Mr. Shoukat Noonari said that female education may be promoted with the help of science and
technology, artificial intelligence. We must eradicate the social evils prevailing in the society. He
said the plight of the women is dismal state. The tradition of honor killing, domestic violence is
also part of victimization of women. He stressed the need to provide a viable platform for female
students at educational institutions so they show their talent and knowledge without any
hesitation.
Mr. Khan Muhammad Solangi accorded special thanks to Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto,
Vice Chancellor who provided a platform for the event. He also accorded thanks to Media
Society for organizing this event.
During the speech competition, Mr. Muhammad Bux Mahar, Mr. Shahzad Zaib and Mr. Mehtab
Ahmed secured first, second and third positions respectively.
Dr. Ali Raza Lashari, Incharge Students Societies Centre conducted the proceedings of the
event. Shields and certificates were distributed among the participants.
Prof. Dr. Farman Ali Mangi, Chairman Department of Physics, Mr. Ali Jafferi and large number
of teachers and students attended the event.
