KARACHI – Hashoo Foundation’s unique event at Hashoo House, Islamabad was graced by Ms. Zartaj Gul – Minister of State for Climate Change as Chief Guest along with the dignitaries from corporate sector, development sector, Academia, Ambassadors and Government officials. The occasion focused on the significance of partnerships for making a difference and achieving social impact. Lessons learned for sustainable development during COVID-19 were shared and discussion on what should be the Way Forward under the “New Normal”.
The event introduced young artists from Hunza, who started the event with a beautiful rendition of Sufiyana Kalam of Shams Tabriz. The welcome note by Ms. Ayesha Khan – Country Director Hashoo Foundation/Sustainability Officer Hashoo group appreciated the partner organizations for serving people during the upheavals of the COVID-19. She repeated the commitment of Mr. Murtaza Hashwani, Chairman, Hashoo Foundation to build back better with a focus on empowering people through inclusive development strategies that cater to resilience and sustainability.
The Chief guest Ms. Zartaj Gul – Minister of State for Climate Change appreciated the efforts of the development sector and lauded the continuous efforts of Hashoo Foundation for sustainable and inclusive development to offset the impacts of Covid-19. She also ensured her ministry’s support to the development sector and asked everyone to come up with proposals where public-private partnership could be developed.
