Contempt of court case dismissed against Imran Khan for threatening female judge

The Islamabad High Court discharged the contempt proceedings against Imran Khan for using insulting language against female judge Zeba Chaudhry.

The contempt of court case was heard in the Islamabad High Court by a larger bench of 5 judges headed by Chief Justice Athar Minullah.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri and Justice Babar Sattar were part of the bench.

Chairman PTI Imran Khan appeared in the Islamabad High Court in the contempt of court case.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Hamid Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other PTI leaders also reached the court.

“Satisfied with Imran Khan’s conduct”

Chief Justice Athar Minullah said that we have seen the affidavit, Imran Khan proved his good intentions and went to apologize, we are ending the proceedings by discharging the notice of contempt of court.

Chief Justice Islamabad High Court said that this is a unanimous decision of the larger bench, we are also satisfied with the conduct of Imran Khan.

The judicial assistant raised the objection

On this occasion, Judicial Assistant Additional Attorney General Aamir Rehman raised an objection in the court that Imran Khan did not apologize unconditionally in the affidavit.

On which Chief Justice Athar Minullah said that you should submit your written submissions so that you can make these submissions a part of your written decision.

Contempt of court proceedings ended

Islamabad High Court dismissed the contempt of court proceedings against Chairman PTI Imran Khan.

After which former Prime Minister Imran Khan left Islamabad High Court.

Today’s date was fixed for the indictment of Imran

The court had also set a date for indicting Imran Khan today.

At the previous hearing, the apology statement was considered satisfactory by the bench.

In the new affidavit, Imran’s avoidance of unconditional pardon

In the new affidavit, Imran Khan refrained from apologizing unconditionally.

Imran Khan also assured to fully implement the statement given in the previous hearing and to avoid such statements in the future.

Strict security arrangements

Strict security arrangements were made in the Islamabad High Court on the occasion of the hearing of the case.

Entry into the courtroom for lawyers, law officers and journalists was subject to a pass.

A limited number of entry passes were issued by the Registrar’s Office.
