The session was the continuation of the series across the country. The objective of these sessions is to define the parameters within which the policy will operate, and identify the key challenges and gaps faced by the relevant stakeholders in order to develop a vibrant national Domestic Commerce Policy.
A great number of participants, from various trade sectors and provincial departments, participated in the session. Dr. Kausar Ali Zaidi, Director General, Ministry of Commerce deliberated how conducive and instrumental is the presence of a national Domestic Commerce Policy in invigorating the economy in general and exports in particular.
Later on, a very intensive Q&A was held to ascertain perspectives on key issues and challenges faced by the stakeholders and to develop ownership amongst them in the formulation and execution of the said policy.
