Chicago, USA: Consul General of Pakistan to Chicago Tariq Karim held a meeting with Michael Fassnacht, President and CEO of World Business Chicago (WBC).
The Consul General, inter alia, highlighted Pakistan as an important business and investment destination and his focus on promoting Pakistan’s economic partnership with the US Midwest region; rapid emergence of Pakistan’s technology ecosystem with thriving start-ups, which have helped Pakistan boost its IT exports; success stories of eighty American enterprises in Pakistan, which included brands like, Procter & Gamble, Abbott & Cargill; and growth in Pakistan-US trade volume and opportunities in tech, healthcare, energy, agriculture & education sectors; & vibrant role of Pakistani-American community and their achievements as successful entrepreneurs and investors.
The Consul General invited the WBC as a leading business institution in Chicago to play its pivotal role in promoting trade and economic relations between the two sides.
Michael Fassnacht welcomed the Consul General and expressed his readiness to strengthen collaboration between the WBC and the Consulate General to bolster economic and commercial ties. He also appreciated the role of Pakistani-American businessmen in promoting entrepreneurship and linkages.
