Strategic U.S.–Pakistan Dialogue and President Trump’s Role in Global Peace
The meeting included a detailed discussion on U.S.–Pakistan relations, regional stability, and global security. Senator Rana Mahmoodul Hassan highlighted President Donald J. Trump’s historic leadership in preventing a potential nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan, recognizing his diplomatic skill in calming one of the most dangerous standoffs in South Asian history.
The Senator conveyed that the Government of Pakistan deeply appreciates President Trump’s intervention in preventing conflict and recommends his nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts toward peace in South Asia and the Middle East. He noted that President Trump’s initiatives have not only reduced hostilities in the Indian subcontinent but also brought stability to the Middle East, encouraging dialogue among previously adversarial nations.

Exchanging Recognitions and Building Stronger Partnerships
During the evening, Senator Rana Mahmoodul Hassan presented an official shield from the Senate of Pakistan to Congressman Ron Estes in recognition of his leadership and ongoing engagement with the Pakistani American community. Congressman Estes, a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, was praised for his dedication to promoting cooperative policies that strengthen bilateral understanding.
In a symbolic gesture of goodwill, Congressman Estes gave a cap associated with President Donald Trump as a souvenir from the U.S. President, which was warmly received by Senator Hassan and appreciated by everyone present.
Mayor John Glidden of Closter declared October 27, 2025, as “Senator Rana Mahmoodul Hassan Day” in the City of Closter. The mayor praised the senator’s diplomatic efforts to foster relations between the United States and Pakistan and reflected on his own experience as a U.S. Air Force pilot stationed in Pakistan after the Vietnam War. Four members of the City Council signed a City Declaration of Recognition supporting this honor.

Vision for Regional Cooperation and Peace
Speaking on behalf of the Pakistani American community, Dr. Gholam Mujtaba, Chairman of the Pakistan Policy Institute USA, emphasized the geostrategic significance of Pakistan as a gateway between South Asia, the Middle East, and Central Asia. He highlighted Pakistan’s crucial role in counterterrorism, peacekeeping, and regional connectivity, noting that trust and collaboration between Washington and Islamabad have been renewed positively following Field Marshal Asim Munir’s recent visit to the White House at the invitation of President Trump.
Dr. Mujtaba proposed that Congressman Ron Estes lead a future bipartisan U.S. Congressional delegation to Pakistan and the Middle East, involving members of the Pakistan Policy Institute USA, to advance a cooperative framework for regional peace, trade development, and post-conflict reconstruction. Congressman Estes expressed support for such an initiative, recognizing Pakistan’s strategic role in ensuring global stability.

Senate Invitation to Congressman Estes
At the end of the gathering, Dr. Mujtaba formally extended an invitation from the Senate of Pakistan to Congressman Ron Estes to visit Pakistan, jointly endorsed by Deputy Chairman Senator Syedaal Khan Nasir and Senator Rana Mahmoodul Hassan.
