Houston, TX: The Alliance for Disaster Relief (AFDR), Helping Hands for Relief &
Development (HHRD) & several other Community organizations along with the
Congressman Al Green & Consul General of Pakistan Muhammad Aftab Chaudhry
sends a 40 feet container of provisions to Jordan for the Palestinian refugees in need of
humanitarian assistance at a ceremony held at HHRD warehouse.
This collaborative
effort contains several thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise including brand new
winter clothing, blankets, shoes, bedding etc. The HHRD & AFDR humanitarian efforts
are being coordinated by UNRWA-United Nations Relief and Works Agency which has
already impacted over 50,000 people.
On the occasion Congressman Al Green stated, “In the spirit of good will, this joint effort
signifies a strategic collaboration to deliver essential provisions to Palestinians in need
of humanitarian assistance. This emphasizes our dedication to addressing humanitarian
Challenges around the globe. Together as people of goodwill, we strive to make a
lasting impact, reminding the world that humanitarian solidarity should know no
borders”. He appreciated the Pakistani Community services specialty during COVID
time.
While the Consul General of Pakistan Muhammad Aftab Chaudhry also appreciated the
AFDR & HHRD continuous efforts in serving the humanity and upload the great
community work of Pakistani American Immigrants in USA, especially in Houston area.
