Classical Dance Evening Held in Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi to celebrate International Dance Day

Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized a graceful event titled “An Evening of Classical Dance” to mark International Dance Day at Auditorium I. Renowned dancer Sheema Kermani and Head of Dance Academy, Mani Chao, expressed their views, while Romana Hussain performed the duties of Moderater. The event commenced with a “Manipuri” dance performance, followed by a vibrant cultural showcase featuring various styles of classical dance. Celebrated dancer and distinguished teacher of classical dance, Sheema Kermani, along with her talented students, delivered outstanding performances that captivated the audience. Accompanied by her group, she presented different classical dance forms, highlighting the beauty, cultural heritage, and artistic intricacies of the art. She also expressed solidarity with Palestine by performing while wearing a traditional Palestinian scarf. A large number of art enthusiasts, students, teachers, and artists from across the city attended the event. Speaking on the occasion, Sheema Kermani said that today we are celebrating International Dance Day, and she pays tribute to all those who are striving for humanity, peace, and justice. 
She thanked the audience for their presence. Head of Dance Academy Mani Chao stated that despite challenging circumstances, the dance community continues to spread joy through dedication, passion, and art. For them, dance is not just an art form but a means of expressing emotions, promoting culture, and spreading positive energy in society. He further added that the patronage of Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council, is a strong support for them. His continuous encouragement and cooperation for artists, especially the dance community, have helped promote fine arts and provided better opportunities for artists to showcase their talent. The audience applauded enthusiastically for the performances of Sheema Kermani, Muhammad Asif, Dawood Bhatti, Taimoor, Yasir, Muhammad Alam, Javeria, Neena, KP, and Irma.
