ISLAMABAD – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China, will arrive in Islamabad on August 20 for a three-day visit to co-chair the 6th Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue alongside Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
According to the Foreign Office, the visit—scheduled from August 20 to 22—is part of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries aimed at deepening their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. Both sides are expected to reaffirm support on issues of core national interest, enhance trade and economic cooperation, and reinforce their commitment to regional peace, development, and stability.
Wang Yi’s Pakistan visit comes immediately after his trip to India, where he attended the 24th Round of Talks Between the Special Representatives of China and India on the Boundary Question. During those talks, Beijing and New Delhi discussed delimitation negotiations, border management, and cross-border cooperation, while agreeing to maintain high-level engagement and work towards strengthening political mutual trust.
The Pakistan-China dialogue is expected to cover bilateral relations, CPEC progress, regional security, and global issues of mutual concern, as both countries continue to emphasize their close diplomatic and strategic ties.
