According to Chinese media reports, a man named Li took advantage of the media and appeared on a public service program to try to find his ex-girlfriend, Ma, so he could repay her debt. According to foreign media, the money was 10,000 yuan, which is approximately 400,000 Pakistani rupees. Lee and Ma met in 1991 and fell in love.
