Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister Imran Khan have welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court.

In his message on the social networking website Twitter, Chairman PTI paid tribute to the judges of the Supreme Court for standing firm for the law and the constitution.

Imran Khan wrote that the judges remained steadfast despite all kinds of threats and bad language.

Chairman PTI also thanked Barrister Ali Zafar and his team.

Imran Khan wrote that I want to thank the people for coming out in large numbers against rigging in the by-elections of Punjab.

I appreciate our SC judges for standing firm & upholding the Constitution & law, against all manner of threats & abuse. I want to thank Barrister Ali Zafar & his team. I want to thank the people of Punjab for coming out in unprecedented numbers in bye elections against rigging.

He said in another message that he will express his gratitude with the people of Pakistan tomorrow evening.

He also wrote that he will thank Allah along with those who stand together in the campaign of true freedom.

It should be noted that the Supreme Court of Pakistan declared Parvez Elahi as the Chief Minister of Punjab, after which Hamza Shahbaz ceased to be the Chief Minister of Punjab.

The court declared in this brief decision containing 11 pages that there is no legal justification for the ruling of the Deputy Speaker, the Punjab Cabinet is also declared void.

The Supreme Court said in the verdict that Hamza Shehbaz and his cabinet should leave office immediately, Pervaiz Elahi should take oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab by 11:30 tonight.

The court directed the Punjab Governor to take the oath of Chief Minister from Parvaiz Elahi.

The Supreme Court had said in the verdict that if the Governor of Punjab does not take the oath, then the President of the State Pervez Elahi should take the oath.
