Karachi : A delegation of Iranian companies visited the office of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan under the chairmanship of Mr. Babak Afghani, CEO & Vice Chairman of the TAPPICO. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Chief Executive, TDAP and Directors General of all the divisions also attended the meeting.
The C.E, TDAP briefed the delegation about the activities of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and role of organization for increase in trade. The Chief Executive, TDAP high lighted the potential of trade between the two counties and shown his keen interest to increase in the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries. C.E, TDAP was of the view to start barter trade between the two countries and a mechanism may be devised for the same.
The Iranian Side was informed about the Economic Free zones where Joint Ventures can be arranged and the products processed/made in Pakistan can be exported to the world. Another option of setting up a Petro Chemical Factory in Pakistan was discussed where Iranian side might provide the technical support and raw material which would be processed by Pakistani Joint Venture Company in Pakistan. The meeting ended with vote of thanks.
