Karachi: In Karachi, the nation’s biggest city, over the past few years there have been mixed results where removal of sacrificial animal’s offal is concerned. The Cantonment Board Korangi Creek (CBKC), in its special Eid-ul-Azha public awareness campaign, initiated sensitization messages for the masses to avoid the open dumping of sacrificial animals. Cantonment Executive Officer Korangi (CBKC) Omar Masoom Wazir won the hearts of the people of Cantonment Board Korangi Creek.
According to a Cantonment Executive Officer Korangi (CBKC), Omar Masoom Wizir on the directives of the Cantonment Board Korangi Creek Officers visited different areas to inspect cleanliness operations and appreciated the performance of the sanitation staff. He also monitored the operation and inspected all the arrangements and provides clean drinking water in the area.
He also said most people also display a distinct aversion to civic sense. For example, after the sacrifice on the roadside or outside homes, the least people can do is to make an effort and dump the entrails in designated areas where the municipal authorities can easily cart them away.
During the first two days of Eid, The Cantonment Board Korangi Creek teams efficiently collected and disposed of the sacrificial animals’ offal during Eid ul Azha.
The authorities concerned on the directives of Cantonment Executive Officer Korangi, CBKC Omar Masoom Wazir had formulated a comprehensive cleanliness plan for Eid-ul-Azha under which all available resources were utilized to accomplish the task during Eid-ul-Azha holidays.
He further said the performance of the field staff was monitored strictly. The Eid holidays of all the sanitary workers of CBKC had been canceled while officials of the department concerned were directed to ensure cleanliness during the Eid days.
