KARACHI – The much-awaited event Beyond Beautiful finally had a grand opening with a Gala Night on 25th January at Marriott Hotel, Karachi. The three-day event strives to bring the best in the beauty industry and aimed to give new perspective & set new standards, and so Gala Night proved that it will successfully manage to do that.
The first day of Beyond Beautiful opened up with the red carpet, which had all the glitz & glam expected from it. The star-studded red carpet was graced by many celebrities, makeup artists, models and the who’s who of the beauty industry. The show was opened by Frieha Altaf, who thanked all the brands and people who made BB possible. She once again reinforced that beauty is skin-deep and it isn’t just what you look on the outside.
“This is not a beauty pageant. It’s not! The idea of beauty is, if you are not beautiful inside than you are nothing. This is the reason, we gather here today, to celebrate all those who beautiful from the inside as well as the outside. The people who are beyond beautiful.”
After Frieha’s heartwarming welcome, the show officially initiated with a stellar and soulful performance choreographed by Wahab Shah. Hosts of the evening Adnan Malik and Amina Malik also introduced the concept of Beyond Beautiful, which was once again the same. BB is not an event, but a movement and a holistic vision of beauty; not only on the outside, but on the inside as well.
The actual purpose of the evening began when the Beyond Beautiful Pakistanis who were the stars of the Gala Night. The award show was kicked off with the trailblazer Khadija Rehman from Generations and moved on to the real Robin Hood Sameer from Robin Hood Army; Sitara-e-Imtiaz winner, Shahzad Roy; the man for all causes, Mushtaq Chappra; the number 1 female ODI baller in the world, Sana Mir; the animal-rights champion, Ayesha Chundrigar; changing perception through films, Adnan Sarwar & Asim Abbasi’ becoming a home for all, Leslie from Dar-ul-Sukun; the unmatchable healthcare professional, Dr. Farah Bari Khan; and finally the woman who managed to become the identity of transgender in Pakistan, Kami Sid.
Among all the other causes that Frieha Altaf and Catwalk Cares endorse, National Institute of Child Care was also part of the show. The ambassador of the institute, Shaniera Akram, was also present and she brought the new light on the institute, which has been saving hundreds and thousands of children around the country.
Some of the celebrities who presented the awards to the star of Beyond Beautiful Gala Night included Meera Irtiza, Ali Kazmi, Nabila, Zeba Bakhtiar, Angeline Malik, Hina Dilpazeer, Sheheryaar Munawar, HSY, Natasha, and Hajra Khan among others. Frieha Altaf also paid tribute to Roohi Bano, who left the world today, leaving with us a legacy never to be forgotten.
BB Gala Night also had an awe-inspiring performance by Sohai Ali Abro. The hair show by SABS for girls and by Sajid Mehmood for boys featured the contestants, including transgender, selected from the BB Model Hunt, who did the first professional ramp walk ever. The show closed with a mystic performance of Amir Khusro’s Kalam by Fareed Ayaz.
Beyond Beautiful Day and Day 3 are scheduled for the 26th and 27th of January, respectively. Both the days will feature brands, educational discussions and classes for the audience that wants to understand how to feel and be beautiful.
Catwalk is hosting Beyond Beautiful Awards & Expo under its initiative Catwalk Cares, which aims to empower beauty and education by sharing the life-changing techniques and giving out self-grooming sessions and scholarships to those who deserve.
