Lahore, February 14, 2023: The 5th edition of the Pakistan Footwear Manufacturers Association (PFMA) Cricket Mela was held over the weekend at the DHA Sports Complex Phase-VI in Lahore, and it was a triumph for BATA Pakistan who emerged as the champions of the tournament.
The two-day event saw eight teams competing in a tape-ball cricket tournament, with matches lasting six overs each side, while semi-final and final were eight over a side matches. The tournament was a showcase of the talent, passion, and commitment of the participating teams, and it was a testament to the love of the game in Pakistan.
The closing ceremony was graced as Chief Guest by the presence of Salman Butt, a former captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team, who appreciated the teams for their performance and praised their dedication to the sport. He also commended the PFMA for organizing such an event, and for their efforts in promoting the sport.
The Chairman of PFMA, Mansoor Ehsan, lauded the team spirit displayed by the players during the tournament. He said that such events are a sign of a healthy society and emphasized the importance of promoting sports and physical activity in the country.
