Tourist sites Babusar Top and Chilas Highway have been closed due to heavy snowfall while dozens of vehicles stranded there have also been rescued.
Due to heavy snowfall, several vehicles were stranded on Babusar Top and Chilas Highway and rescue teams were dispatched to rescue them.
Now, however, rescue officials say more than 50 stranded vehicles have been rescued.
Dozens of passengers and tourists were aboard the vehicles stranded, officials said, adding that all the tourists and passengers have been shifted to Babusar Center.
Rescue officials also said that intermittent snowfall was continuing at the tourist spot.
Earlier, the Gilgit-Baltistan chief secretary had said that Chilas Highway and Babu Sir Top had been closed due to heavy snowfall.
Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Secretary had also said that the staff of District Disaster Management Authority had left for Babusar Top with snow removal machinery.
Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Secretary said that Karakoram Highway is open for traffic.
