August and September electricity bills waived off for flood victims: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif waived the August and September electricity bills of the flood victims, canceled the late charge of those who did not pay the August electricity bills of the victims.

He said that the federal government, provincial governments and institutions are all engaged in rehabilitating the flood victims, the nation is fighting the ravages of the flood unitedly.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that epidemics are spreading due to standing water, which has been directed to be drained soon, waived the electricity bills of the flood victims for August and September.

He said that Rs 35 billion relief has been given to the consumers using 300 units, the late charges of the flood victims who have not paid their August electricity bills have been waived.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also said that fuel adjustment charges will not be taken from consumers consuming 300 units of electricity, which will provide relief to 2 crore 1 million consumers.

Earlier, while giving a briefing on the flood disasters, relief and rehabilitation, the Prime Minister was told that 190,000 houses have been damaged by the flood in Sahabpur.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that there has been a lot of destruction due to floods in the entire region, if epidemics spread, it will be difficult to control them.

He directed to solve the problem of drinking water in Sahabpur immediately and said that measures should also be taken to extract water by using additional machinery and resources.

On this occasion, Chief Secretary Balochistan told them that 128 roads were affected in Balochistan, out of which 91 have been restored, there is a plan of 11 billion rupees for the restoration of livestock in the province.

Salim Khosa, MPA from Sahabpur told the Prime Minister that our area is full of water, which has no drainage system.

He complained to the Prime Minister that the Balochistan Chief Minister is not paying attention to this area, it is hoped that now the attention will be paid to Sahabatpur.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed to speed up the process of water drainage in the flood-affected areas.
