The deceased made his mark in sports journalism in a professional career of 50 years.
Karachi : President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Muhammad Ahmad Shah has expressed his deep sorrow over the death of Pakistan’s well-known producer and director Athar Waqar Azim, saying that Athar Waqar Azim served his iron in sports journalism in his fifty years of professional career. Their gap can never be filled. Athar Waqar was also the vice-president of the Azim Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi. Athar Waqar Azim was one of the founding members of Hum Network, he was part of the launching team of Hum TV, Hum Masala and Hum News among other channels while Athar Waqar Azim was also the Director Current Affairs and General Manager Karachi Center at PTV. Ahmed Shah further said that Athar Waqar Azim has left behind a son, his services and his role in the world of showbiz will always be remembered. His cremation will be done today in Karachi. He said that may Allah grant the deceased a high place in His mercy and patience to the bereaved.
