After 36 years, Argentina has been crowned the world’s football kingdom for the third time in the most thrilling final in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 history decided by penalty kicks. Both teams fought hard to win the match but fate was kind to star footballer Lionel Messi.
The final match between the teams of France and Argentina was played at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, the match between the two teams was tied with two goals at full time, after which 30 minutes of extra time was given.
In the extra time, both teams scored one goal each, after which the match was tied with three goals in the extra time, the match was decided on penalty kicks. Argentina beat France 4-2 on penalty kicks.
French footballer Kylian Mbappe scored the third goal in the 118th minute and made a hat trick; Lionel Messi from Argentina scored the third goal in the 108th minute to give his team the lead, which Mbappe ended with a goal in the 118th minute. It is being described as the most sensational final in history.
The match between the two teams was tied at 2 goals each till the end of the 90 minutes, after which extra time was given.
After the start of the match, Argentina showed an aggressive game and started attacking the French goal. In the first half, Argentina scored two goals against France.
The first goal was scored by star footballer Lionel Messi after receiving a penalty kick in the 23rd minute, and the second goal by Argentina was scored by Angel Di Maria in the 36th minute.
Mbappe scored both goals for France in the second half. The match between France and Argentina is tied by 2-2 goals.
According to Pakistani time, the match started at 8pm, French President Emmanuel Macron also arrived at the stadium to watch the match.
Finalists Argentina and France, France is the current champion & won the trophy twice. Lionel Messi, playing his last World Cup has a golden opportunity to captain Argentina to the title.
