Love is a natural human passion and so is patriotism. This very patriotism drives us to serve our people and nation. In other words, “Where there is no Patriotism, there will be no public service and our overseas Pakistanis are epitome of such unstoppable devotion and abundant love.”
There are presently many Pakistanis living across the world, known as overseas Pakistanis. Here we are referring to the Overseas American Pakistani Doctors Welfare Organization’s APPNA, a philanthropist organization which boast of having credible doctors on its team with extensive experience in medical field.
This Welfare Organization has successfully maintained its own old tradition. This year as ever Spring Meeting has been organized on Pakistan Resolution. If we look at all the spring meetings-flyers organized by the Doctors’ Welfare Organization Numerous high profile personalities have been invited to speak on important topics such as Pak-US relations?in the panel Deputy Assistant secretary for central Asian and Pakistan affairs bureau of south and central Asian affairs Mr Lesslie C. Viguerie and Dr Asad Majeed khan Ambassador of Pakistan to US and Adil Najam Inaugural Dean, Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies; Professor of International Relations and Earth & Environment. At the same time, the role of women has not been neglected and a very important conversation has also been conducted. This topic shows how important role women play in a strong foundation of any nation’s formation.
Lieutenant General Nigar Johar Khan Surgeon General of Pakistan has been invited and Prof. Dr. Shirin R. Tahirkheli former first Ambassador for women empowerment former senior advisor to secretary of state on United Nations Reforms and Wajeeha Razaq chair social forum committee.
To add to the festivity big names of entertainment industry like Ali Zafar and Naeem Abbas Rufi have also been invited. A beautiful Food Street adorned with traditional Pakistani food has been set up so to introduce Pakistani culture and traditions.
Few programs for those who have interest in medical field are a part of this spring meeting as well. This zoom meeting regarding APPNA spring meeting is hosted by Waqar Ali khan and Sobia Ali.
Waqar Ali Khan is a well-known personality in the American Pakistani Community. He is the founding member of several key organizations and institutions in the US that aim to provide a platform for the progress of the Pakistani community and strengthen its link to the American society.
Sobia Ali is associated with Pakistan’s main stream media houses as a current affairs producer and now for the last three years she has been working for American channels.
Dr Naeem K. Tahirkheli, M.D also hosted the event and invited the Core Committee to provide detailed information about the sessions of the Spring Meeting to its audience.
