Karachi – April 24, 2025: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Sindh held a drug burning ceremony today in Karachi, reaffirming its resolve to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse. The event showcased the destruction of a substantial quantity of narcotics and contraband, seized during successful operations across the province.
Mr. Mukesh Kumar, Minister for Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control, Government of Sindh, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He lauded the efforts of ANF in the fight against narcotics and emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation for a drug-free society.
The Director General of ANF, Major General Abdul Mueed, HI(M), was the keynote speaker. In his address, he highlighted ANF’s strategy, operational achievements, and the ongoing commitment to eliminating the drug menace from Pakistan. He called upon all stakeholders—including government institutions, civil society, and the public—to play their part in this national mission.
A special feature of the event was a tableau performance by students of Customs Public School, which conveyed a powerful anti-drug message. The performance was highly admired and appreciated by all participants for its emotional impact and relevance to the theme of the event.
The ANF destroyed the following quantities of narcotics and liquor:
Hashish: 4,068 kilograms
Heroin: 123 kilograms
Opium: 36 kilograms
Methamphetamine (Ice): 3.5 kilograms
Liquor: 575 liters
The event was conducted under legal and environmental safety protocols, in the presence of judiciary members, law enforcement officials, civil society representatives, and media.
The Anti Narcotics Force Sindh reiterated its unwavering resolve to eradicate drugs and protect future generations from the scourge of addiction.
