Khairpur : The Annual Flower Exhibition-2023 organized by the Nursery & Beautification Section, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur was inaugurated at University. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand, Vice Chancellor, The Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and Heritage, Sukkur and Mr. Haider Zaman Khattak, Secretary, Pakistan Science Foundation, Islamabad jointly inaugurated the exhibition.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that flowers are source of beauty and fragrance as result it inspire the human being. He said flowers reflect the beauty of nature. It is need of the time to plant trees and flowers to mitigate the adverse impact of climate change. He appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Hissamuddin Shaikh, Chairman, Nursery & Beautification Section along with his team especially the gardeners who contributed day and night in the successful organizing of this exhibition. Dr. Ibupoto commended the good will gesture extended by Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand, Vice Chancellor, The Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and Heritage, Sukkur for sparing his precious time to witness this exhibition as chief guest.
Speaking as chief guest of exhibition, Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand said that trees are the cylinder of oxygen gas. We witnessed in the advent of COVID-19, the scarcity of oxygen in the environment. Dr. Khand said for balance environment, it is imperative to plant trees. He appreciated the cognitive efforts taken by Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for the academic, research and environmental development at large.
Mr. Haider Zaman Khattak said Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur is a premier institute of Sindh province working dynamically in the capacity building of the teachers, students and staff. He said this exhibition is part of nature loving activity.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sharjeel Noor Channa, Deputy Commissioner, Khairpur also witnessed the exhibition. He expressed that Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur is committed to provide hygienic and nature friendly environment to the students and staff. The flower exhibition reflects love with the nature.
Earlier, Prof. Dr. Hissamuddin Shaikh, Chairman Nursery & Beautification Section cordially welcomed the faculty members, guests, civil society activists, media persons and students on the eve of annual flower exhibition. He said under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, this event is being organized in befitting manner. He also appreciated the work of the gardeners of the Nursery & Beautification Section.
Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto and Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand distributed cash prizes as token of appreciation among the gardeners. The exhibition will remain continue for four days especially for families from 05 pm to 08 pm.
