KARACHI: The Ambassador at Large for Global Peace & human Rights Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui, Chairman, Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) wishes to express his sincere condolences on the death of the President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli.
A man of the institutions, a champion of multilateralism & European Union‘s efforts to promote peace and development, deeply pro-European and a passionate journalist, Sassoli was a symbol of poise, humanity and generosity. These qualities were always appreciated by all his colleagues, from all political persuasions and in all European countries, bearing testimony to his extraordinary passion for the public good, his ability to listen and his constant commitment to serving citizens. We already miss his human warmth, his generosity, his friendliness and his smile. He will be truly missed, not least for his compassion and values.
His untimely and sudden passing has left us shocked and dismayed. I offer my personal deepest sympathy and condolences and those of the ICPH family to his wife, Alessandra Vittorini, to his children, Livia and Giulio, and friends and colleagues to all those who were close to him and loved ones. May he rest in peace.
