ISLAMABAD – The Ambassador at Large for Global Peace, Human Rights and Interfaith Harmony Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui Chairman, Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) met Spanish Ambassador to Pakistan Manuel Durán Giménez Rico at Spain Embassy Islamabad, Pakistan.
According to details, during the meeting, both the dignitaries have acknowledged the need to enhance mutual cooperation between the two countries. Our relations are cordial and friendly. Our two countries have a lot in common. Spanish Ambassador to Pakistan Manuel Durán Giménez Rico said Spain values the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan nationals in the war against terrorism and its endeavors for regional peace and stability. He said The Muslim past of Spain ( Al-Andalus) makes our country a very attractive tourist destination for Pakistanis and more and more Spaniards are coming to Pakistan to discover the beauty of its mountains and landscapes. He further added that promoting cultural activities that bond our two nations are both perfect ways of strengthening our already solid ties and the exchange of interfaith delegates is very important to strengthen the peace ties between the two countries.
The global peace ambassador Imam Allama Ahsan Siddiqui discussed with him the global challenges, such as terrorism, extremism, promotion of climate change, COB26, interfaith harmony, human rights, and human values, education, woman empowerment, cross-cultural collaborations, Islamophobia, the culture of tolerance and current situation in Afghanistan. Both dignitaries agreed to promote peace and interfaith harmony in Pakistan.
Ambassador of Spain in Pakistan H.E. Manuel Durán Giménez-Rico acknowledged and appreciated the role of ICPH work towards peace, stability. They discussed the importance of Interfaith Harmony within the country and bilateral peace between Pakistan and Spain promised to extend his fullest support and cooperation to Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony ICPH.
Ambassador Manuel Durán said that the recent Corona epidemic has severely affected all human beings but life is slowly returning to normal. He said that the Spain Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan will always continue to support Pakistan’s efforts to promote inter-faith harmony. Ambassador Allama Ahsan Siddiqui thanked Ambassador Manuel Durán and said that ICPH Pakistan has always been vocal in protecting the rights of #minorities in Pakistan around the world. President International Research Council for Religious Affairs Islamabad Mr, Mulana Muhammad Israr Madani was also present on the occasion.
The Chairman ICPH, Ambassador of Pakistan Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui requested and stressed the need for the continuation of Spain and other international communities for their social and global peace along with social and economic development assistance. There is huge potential in two great brothers’ countries and we need to explore those opportunities and capitalize the same!
