Aleema Khan, the sister of jailed former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, has denied reports that a former army chief met her brother in Adiala Jail.

In a post on X on Monday, she called the claims “totally fake”. Furthermore, she said PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan had also confirmed that no such meeting took place.

“All the news circulating on social media that a former army chief met Imran Khan in Adiala Jail is fake,” she wrote.

Aleema Alleges Disinformation Campaign

According to Aleema, people are spreading the reports to divert attention from Imran Khan’s prison conditions.

She claimed authorities continue to keep the former prime minister in isolation. In addition, she alleged that officials have not provided proper treatment for his eye condition.

Furthermore, Aleema said authorities have not allowed him to speak with his sons. She also claimed that he has not received books for six months and does not have access to television.

“He has not had contact with anyone from the outside world during the past six months,” she said. However, she noted that his lawyer visited him twice after court orders.

Family Highlights Court-Approved Visitation Rights

Meanwhile, Aleema pointed to a court order that allows regular meetings with Imran Khan.

According to her, six family members and six lawyers can visit him every Tuesday. Similarly, six PTI representatives can meet him every Thursday.

She argued that these visits are his legal right under Pakistani law and international standards.

Rumours Spread Over the Weekend

The statement came after social media users shared claims that a former army chief had visited Imran Khan in jail.

However, PTI leaders quickly rejected those reports. They also said no evidence supports the claims.

As a result, the party has accused critics of spreading misinformation.

Imran Khan Remains Behind Bars

Imran Khan has remained in custody since August 2023. He is currently serving multiple sentences.

The courts sentenced him to 14 years in the £190 million corruption case. Additionally, he received a 17-year sentence in the Toshakhana-2 case.

Earlier this year, doctors performed a medical procedure on him at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad. Since then, he has continued to receive follow-up treatment.

Family Raises Concerns Over Contact With Sons

Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s family says authorities have blocked phone contact between him and his sons, Kasim and Suleiman.

The family also alleges that officials delayed visa approvals for the brothers. As a result, they have been unable to visit Pakistan.

The two brothers currently live in London with Imran Khan’s former wife.

PTI Continues Jail Protests

Meanwhile, PTI supporters continue to stage protests outside Adiala Jail on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These are the days set aside for meetings with Imran Khan under court orders.

However, party leaders say authorities have largely suspended those meetings in recent months.

On May 20, Aleema Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi claimed that unidentified individuals fired shots near PTI supporters during a protest outside the jail.

So far, the government has not commented on Aleema Khan’s latest allegations. Therefore, questions surrounding his prison conditions and visitation rights remain a point of political debate.
