KARACHI: The Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) has appreciated Caretaker Sindh Minister for Housing and Local Governments Muhammad Mubin Jumani for taking honest steps to promote the construction industry in the province and issuing on-the-spot orders to concerned departments to redress complaints of builders and developers for boosting economic activities and has also sought implementation of minister’s instructions.
Caretaker Sindh Minister Mubin Jumani, in a meeting with a delegation of ABAD, had ordered all concerned departments including the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to remove all hurdles to clear all pending legal works including approval of building plans, completion etc within fifteen days and that all steps being taken by the caretaker government should be visible to general public.
Chairman ABAD Asif Sumsum, in a statement, said that we are appreciative of the caretaker minister because it is the need of the hour to take immediate steps for the revival of the construction industry, which is a prime source for creating thousands of jobs, providing homes to people and supporting more than seventy allied industries. He said that the caretaker Sindh Minister is taking positive decisions for the construction industry, which is facing a number of problems nowadays. We fully support the present caretaker set up in Sindh for the betterment of the economy, he added.
Chairman ABAD pointed out that Pakistan is facing a shortage of more than 12 million houses out of which major demand is in Karachi and other cities of Sindh. He said that members of ABAD are trying their best to complete ongoing residential and commercial projects but for new projects, we are facing many hurdles. But caretaker minister Mubin Jumani has taken a positive interest in promoting the construction industry, he said.
Chairman ABAD said that we highly appreciate the positive gesture of the caretaker minister and we hope that the instructions of the minister will be implemented in letter and in spirit for the betterment of the provincial as well as national economy.
