The Students Week-2022 organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur inaugurated on Thursday November 17, 2022 at Dr. Syed Adeeb-ul-Hassan Rizvi Hall. Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Science, Mr. Mir Rohal Khan Khoso, S.S.P, Khairpur and Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Advisor to Vice Chancellor on Academics jointly inaugurated the week. Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari presided the inaugural ceremony while Mr. Mir Rohal Khan Khoso was the chief guest wherein Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari was the guest of honor.
While delivering his presidential address, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari remarked that the crux of this week aimed at to the sense of competition, tolerance and cooperation among the students. He said student’s activism is imperative for inclusive society He said co-curricular activities could contain militant tendencies, ethnicity and extremism. It is the need of the hour to promote the sense of tolerant and peaceful campuses. Dr. Lashari said that I am very much thankful to Vice Chancellor who nominated me to preside this prestigious event.
Mr. Mir Rohal Khan Khoso said I am extremely thankful to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto who extended an opportunity to interact with the students directly. He advised the students to manage their time because has value in their career building. He stressed the need to analyze and comparative studies of different disciplines by the students. He remarked that there is great significance of books available at the library because these books are asset for the students not for showcase. He offered his services for the career counseling of the students voluntarily to prepare the students for competitive examinations.
Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari said that the students’ week will provide a viable platform for students to explore their field of competency. He said under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto different capacity building activities for faculty, officers, employees and students are being conducted on regular basis.
Prof. Dr. Amir Hussain Shar, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences remarked that this week will provide learning about co-curricular activities as result the strength and capacity of the students will be enhanced.
Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto, Registrar said that a positive mindset will be developed among the students during the students’ week. He said credit goes to the Vice Chancellor and his team for organizing this meaningful week because students remained exhausted in the wake of COVID-19 and devastating flood.
Prof. Dr. Masihullah Jatoi, Director Students Affairs accorded vote of thanks to the guests and briefed them about the various activities being conducted during the week. He said this week will provide ample opportunities to the students to take part in various activities and will shine their talent.
Ms. Shahida Amir Chandio, Students Advisor (Girls) cordially welcomed the guests and participants of the ceremony. She said a large number of girls students are participating in the week, this shows their enthusiasm in the co-curricular activities. She said our talented students are rendering their services in public and private sector at large.
Dr. Nazar Hussain kalwar, Students Advisor (Boys) conducted the proceedings of the ceremony. A large number of teachers, officer, employees and students attended the ceremony.
